What would happen if we prayed night and day for a whole week?

“Ancient Celts used the phrase ‘thin places’ to describe where the veil between heaven and earth becomes so thin that prayer flows easily, and the still, small voice of God is heard clearly.

Over and over, people report that in the presence of God, one hour in the Prayer Room feels like ten minutes.” 24-7 Prayer.

November 17-24th, at Ross Road, we are committing a week to pray, to invite God’s power, presence, and kingdom into our lives, church, and community.

This is the second time we will be running the prayer room. Listen to what people said after the last time we ran a 24-7 prayer room.

In the prayer room, there will be different stations to pray. These stations will give brief instructions on how to praise God, intercede for our community and world, and invite God’s goodness into our lives. This will also be an opportunity to pray for our own church community as well praying for the nations, where we will pray for our missionaries and current global events.

“When you spend time with God – you grow closer to Him and start to care about His priorities. That gift roots our relationship with Jesus, fuels the sharing of our faith and helps carry us through the good, the bad, and the ugly of life.” – 24-7 Prayer.

Think about how you can specifically help in the hard-to-fill hours. For example, if you don’t work during the day, come then; If you are an early riser, come early in the morning.  We often will sacrifice sleep for what is important to us. We stay up late to watch a movie, wake up early to go hunting, or stay up all night because we are worried. You can sacrifice sleep to come before God in prayer. We invite you to be creative about your situation. For instance, if you are a parent, swap babysitting with another parent so each of you can pray or invite your kids to pray with you. It will be a sacrifice, but we believe it will be worth it.

You will receive some more information on what you can expect in the prayer room as well as some tips to make the time worthwhile.

FAQs

Can groups come in and pray?

YES!

The space is designed to fit up to 8 people, for anything more than that, you may want to split up into 2 groups. Life groups, small groups, and families are invited to come together.

How old does someone have to be to use the prayer room?

Anyone is welcome. It is a great opportunity for parents to teach kids about how to pray. We will have some kid-friendly activities as well.

Between 10 PM - 8 AM we ask that everyone is accompanied by an adult.

Can we choose the length of our prayer slots?

You can! There are options to pray for 30 minutes, 1 hour, or 2 hours.

What happens at nighttime?

We encourage people to come in pairs or groups at night but if you are comfortable coming by yourself, that is ok too.

The building will be locked, and the previously scheduled person will open the door for the next person. There will be a doorbell that can be heard in the prayer room.

If the next person doesn’t come, there will be a phone number to call to let someone know and you will receive instructions on how to enter the building.
