Solitude is a powerful spiritual practice that connects our souls to God. It reinforces our identity and purpose, enlarges our capacity for compassion, and opens ourselves up to our own souls.

Solitude is not easy for most of us in this world full of distractions. We’d rather not sit alone with our own thoughts. Yet, followers of Jesus have found solitude to be a key practice to help them to know themselves and Jesus.

Navigating the world can be tricky. It's even trickier when we do it alone. God invites us to do it together; bearing each others burdens, celebrating successes and working together to live the way Jesus calls us to.

The rule of life is a schedule and set of practices and relational rhythms that create space for us to be with Jesus, become like him, and do as he did, as we live in alignment with our deepest desires. (John Mark Comer)
