Dear Ross Road family
It was so good to be with the GO team last week sharing about various things that have been going on with our family and ministry. The big news is that as of mid-September I am the new Director of Global Engagement for the 5 & 2 Network (fiveandtwonetwork.org). I am working with former Multiply workers Jamie Munday and Murray Nickel. The vision of the network is to help transform vulnerable communities from the inside out. We try to fulfill this mission by providing camps, classes, coaching, and community aid grants. Two weeks ago we came alongside a community org that we helped start called Progress In Peace and helped them run a peace camp for close to 90 people. There were Kurdish Muslims, Yazidi refugees, Assyrian Christians, Arab Muslims and westerners from Australia, Britain, Canada, and the US. It was a powerful time of learning about and practicing forgiveness. And God created space for reconciliation and hope. Yet shortly after as I journeyed to Turkey to visit Syrian refugee friends, it was disheartening to hear about the conflict happening between Israel and Palestine. Let's continue to pray for peace in the Middle East friends because it is something that only Jesus the Prince of Peace can bring about.
Prayer Requests:
Pray for the individuals of the camp who experienced the presence of the Spirit and pray that He will lead them into all truth.
Pray for S, our Christian friend who is leading Progress In Peace and their next steps in taking the message of peace to Baghdad and Mosul.
Pray for our family as it has been a busy season and we are dealing with some ups and downs in our children's lives.
Pray for my travels in this season as I head to Colombia and then to Africa in November.
