January Month of Prayer

January is our month of prayer.  Starting January 5^th we have a prayer guide that will invite you to pray alongside the words of the Bible and saints from history for the next 4 weeks. The primary way to interact with this is by receiving a text message each morning. Sign up by texting “prayer” to 1-844-763-2651.”

This journey will invite you to pray ancient words that have helped millions of Christians pray for centuries. We will use pre-written prayers to spur our personal prayers. While some may feel it is stoic to use others’ words in prayers, others’ words help us pray and acknowledge things we wouldn’t pray without them. Like song lyrics can make us erupt in joy, sorrow, and peace, let these prayers spur your own passionate prayers.  We will use one prayer a week, but each day you will be invited to notice and respond to a different aspect of these ancient prayers. Repetition is important since there is no silver bullet to life or spiritual growth. In addition, on Saturday you will be invited to be active in your prayer in one way or another to put the prayers into practice.

2 Chronicles 7:14 "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

We want to humble ourselves and seek God throughout the day. Therefore, you will be texted at noon daily to pause your busy life and refocus on God. It is encouraging to know that the entire church is praying together at the same time.
