Freedom To Surrender

As people we sometimes act counterproductively to the outcomes we want to see in our lives.  The results of this in our spiritual lives can be catastrophic.  Paul urges believers to be totally surrendered to Jesus in 1 Corinthians 10:14-11:1.

We can receive God’s blessings but not receive the eternal life he offers. Paul gives a warning to not trust in God’s blessings but gives hope in Jesus.

Athletes display great perseverance and determination in order to compete at the highest levels.  The Apostle Paul uses the metaphor of athletics to describe the race of faith and urges believers to keep their eyes on the prize.

We value our freedoms and rights. Why? Paul urged the Corinthians to sacrifice them, as he did, for wider Gospel outreach.

Jesus’ followers help each other live for him, even to the point of surrendering personal freedoms.
