Greetings!
Plans are in full swing now as we have tickets to spend the month of December in West Africa as a family, followed by Dwayne staying on for another month to be a part of the audio recording of the New Testament! We are also very excited that a small team of 4 from Ross Road will be joining us for 10 days at the end of December/early January!
We have been encouraged by more contact with Faith Comes by Hearing who will be providing the technicians to do the NT audio recording in early January. Please pray for the Lord to provide several local people who are needed as voices for the recording, especially people who are good readers and who are willing to participate in such a project. Pray for physical and spiritual protection for this project and everyone involved. It will provide a significant way to make the New Testament accessible to the people there, many of whom can not read.
Pray for us as we prepare for our time there as a family and with the team. It will be a big change to be there after 2 1/2 years away. We look forward to reconnecting with the local and missionary friends who are still around. Pray that God will give us wisdom and grace in the decisions we will face there regarding our house that we have rented for the past 17 years, our pets, and our things there. Pray, too, that Helen's dad will do well with the friends who will be staying with him and that he would have peace and not be confused or anxious in our absence.
In the meantime, Dwayne has begun work on the Old Testament translation with our translator! However, rainy season in West Africa has affected the internet, so they have often struggled to connect. Please pray that the internet connection would improve and be stable so that they can work effectively and see good progress.
